Mastacembelus Elipsifer

There are a variety of eels in Lake Tanganyika, most belonging to the Mastacembelus family, M. Moorii, M. Frenatus,  M. intermediate and M. Albomaculatus.  M. Plagiostoma and M. Elipsifer.  There may well be more, but both Plagiostoma and Elipsifer are both well marked and colorful. Eels make an interesting addition to any Tanganyikan community tank.  Although eels can grow quite large, our standard offering is in the 8.0″-15″ range.  Special requests for larger specimens are available as special order.
